In 2025, ToonBeeld Thorn celebrates its 15th edition with a special Living Statues Festival on Pentecost Sunday, featuring top acts from the Benelux and highlights from past years.

Thorn 🇳🇱

Thorn is a city in the municipality of Maasgouw, in the Dutch province of Limburg. It lies on the rivers Meuse and Witbeek. It is known as 'the white city' for its white-washed brick houses in the centre of town. It used to be part of the Imperial Abbey of Thorn.

The story 📖

Something totally different today: on this Pentecost Sunday, I went out to photograph a living statues championship using a new film simulation recipe, in the beautiful and cozy little city of Thorn. Of course, I got pulled over by a cop—you can see him in the pictures!
