Carnival

Carnival is a festive season that occurs at the close of the Christian pre-Lenten period, consisting of Quinquagesima or Shrove Sunday, Shrove Monday, and Shrove Tuesday or Mardi Gras. Carnival typically involves public celebrations, including events such as parades, public street parties and other entertainments, combining some elements of a circus. Elaborate costumes and masks allow people to set aside their everyday individuality and experience a heightened sense of social unity.

Hasselt 🇧🇪

Hasselt is the capital and largest city of the province of Limburg in the Flemish Region of Belgium. The old town of Hasselt is surrounded by a number of satellite hamlets including Kiewit, Runkst, Banneuxwijk, Godsheide and Rapertingen.

The story 📖

Just a quick little trip to Hasselt, where I stumbled upon a carnival parade. This time with some gear I don’t use so often: the 10-year-old X-E2 paired with the razor-sharp XF 50mm f/2, which is a narrow 75mm full-frame equivalent field of view.
