Liège 🇧🇪

Liège is a major city and municipality of Wallonia and the capital of the Belgian province of Liège. The city is situated in the valley of the Meuse, in the east of Belgium, not far from borders with the Netherlands and with Germany. In Liège, the Meuse meets the river Ourthe.

The story

Today, I decided to explore the city of Liège during the start of the Christmas markets and test out a new film simulation recipe. While climbing down the Montagne de Bueren, I noticed that the jolly holiday vibes weren’t quite there this early in the season, so I didn’t even bother taking pictures of it. However, the gloomy look of the photos I did take is quite intriguing for future missions!

The story

Day Two – and boy, was it a chilly one! If there were a Lord, I’d thank Him for bringing extra pants for layering and warmth, as well as an extra pair of shoes since one got drenched in wet snow.
Today was filled with graffiti exploration at Tumblingerstraße and ended with a visit to Königsplatz, where mass rallies led by a certain German politician once took place.

Stolberg 🇩🇪

Stolberg is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It has a long history as an industrial town and belongs to the district Aachen and the lower district court of Eschweiler.

The story

Testing my newly acquired, second-hand, 10-year-old Samsung NX Mini camera with the 9mm lens attached!
I needed a quiet, calm place to get acquainted with the device, so I decided to visit Burg Stolberg on this overcast day. I selected the “Retro” setting in the camera’s Picture Wizard, with a few tweaks of my own. It’s a kind of film simulation recipe, giving the photos a hint of sepia – just enough to feel vintage, though I can’t say exactly which era it evokes.
Unfortunately, my GPS tracker didn’t record, so no step mileage today.
